Self-care Saturdays

Self-care Saturdays

As mothers, it’s our natural instinct to put everyone and everything else before ourselves, which means we often neglect our own needs. As a qualified Health Coach, I’ve become so much more aware of the importance of self-care, especially for us mothers. It’s so important to know that prioritising self-care doesn’t mean that we’re being selfish, it’s just a way for us to start making time for our emotional and mental wellbeing.

In the Cape Winelands we’re blessed with so many inspiring women taking the initiative to host wonderful events. What better way to invest in oneself than to make the time to attend a morning filled with an inspirational or motivational speaker among great company. I know that it can sometimes be daunting to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, but you’d be surprised just how empowering it can be!

So, in the spirit of doing something for ourselves, a fellow mama friend and I took a Saturday morning “off” from mommy duty, got our hubbies to stand in and attended a leather handbag workshop hosted by Koffie met Katryn and Masch. It was a wonderful morning spent learning a new skill, connecting with other entrepreneurs and engaging with women of all ages and walks of life (watch the video here).

Koffie met Katryn

Koffie met Katryn is an inspiring women-led initiative that offers a wide array of workshops hosted by Katryn Kruger. Katryn is an international model, motivational speaker and entrepreneur and at her intimate events series she shares her own stories with the aim to motivate and inspire women of all ages, races and religions to follow their dreams and aspirations.

Through this passion project, she offers the space and opportunity for women to inspire and support each other. It comes highly recommended if you’re looking for a lovely and wholesome self-care activity to fill your cup. Invite a fellow mama or friend who also needs some creativity and inspiration in her life (a ticket to one of these workshops makes for a great gift, by the way).

Her next workshops will take place on the following dates:

Saturday, 14 March 2020 (Bellville)

Saturday, 4 April 2020 (Paarl)

For more information, follow @katrynkruger on Instagram and be sure not to miss one of her lovely events!
